Jokulsarlon lake
Jokulsarlon is the best known and the largest of a number of glacial lakes in Iceland. It is situated at the south end of the glacier Vatnajökull between Skaftafell National Park and Hofn.

Mt Herschel
Mount Herschel is a conspicuous peak (3,335 m) standing 1.6 miles (2.6 km) northeast of Mount Peacock and overlooking the terminus of Ironside Glacier from the south, in the Admiralty Mountains, Victoria Land. Discovered in 1841 by Sir James Clark Ross, who named this feature for Sir John F.W. Herschel, noted English astronomer.

Lake Fryxell
Antarctica, The blue ice covering Lake Fryxell, in the Transantarctic Mountains, comes from glacial meltwater from the Canada Glacier and other smaller glaciers. The freshwater stays on top of the lake and freezes, sealing in briny water below.

Climbers on Alpamayo mountain in Peru
Alpamayo is one of the most conspicuous peaks in the Cordillera Blanca mountain range of the Peruvian Andes. It is a steep (sixty degrees), almost perfect pyramid of ice, one of a number of peaks that compose the Santa Cruz massif, the northernmost massif of the Cordillera Blanca.

Eyjafjallajokull glacier
Eyjafjallajokull is one of the smaller glaciers of Iceland. It is situated to the north of Skogar and to the west of the larger glacier Myrdalsjokull. The icecap of the glacier covers a volcano (1,666 m in height) which has erupted relatively frequently since the Ice Age. The last eruption was from 1821 to 1823, causing a fatal glacier run.
